The AOTS Alumni Societies in 43 countries and 71 regions across the world have formed friendly relationships with the AOTS under the slogan of “Heart to Heart.” In particular, the scope of technical cooperation through the Alumni Societies has dramatically expanded since 2012, when the AOTS merged with JODC to form HIDA. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have been involved in forming this solid worldwide network. My request regarding the Alumni Societies, if any, would be that AOTS staff and Alumni Societies implement training programs according to respective needs of the Societies, through personal communications as though in the past. HIDA, or the AOTS, whichever it is called, we have paid our utmost respect to the organization. I believe that the traditional abbreviation, the AOTS, will always stay in the hearts of people; and that the AOTS’s effort of technical cooperation and cultural exchange, supported by the AOTS Alumni Societies, will continue to enjoy high esteem and be received favorably around the world.Dr. Mohamad Bahaa El-Din Zaghloul, President, AOTS Alumni Society, EgyptFormer Chairman of the Central Metallurgical R&D Institute, Chairman of Japanese Universities Egyptian Graduates Association, Board member of Egypt-Japan Business Council (EJBC)At the 2017 Spring Conferment of Decoration on Foreign Nationals, Dr. Mohamad Bahaa El-Din Zaghloul received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, for his 40- year-long operation of AOTS Alumni Society, Egypt, which was established to promote scientific and cultural activities, as well as the bilateral relationship between Japan and Egypt. Some operations of JODC were transferred to the newly created Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).The 1st Convention of the AOTS Alumni Societies was held. The Kansai Kenshu Center (KKC) re-opened after relocation. The cumulative total number of trainees reached 100,000.The Tokyo Kenshu Center (TKC) opened.History of the AOTSMessage from the Alumni SocietyDr. Mohamad Bahaa El-Din Zaghloul, President of AOTS Alumni Society, EgyptAOTS Alumni Society, Egypt
