This new subsidiary could achieve more sales by getting orders in electric/mechanical facilities for other Japanese afliated rms as well as installation of boilers and compressors or construction of new industrial parks and logistics warehouse. The recent start of urban development projects calls for a larger workforce and enhanced level of engineering for the rm. However, due to fewer construction projects requiring higher level of engineering in previous years, it is apparent the rm has a shortage in cumulative experience in technology. The Filipino corporation as investor has been operating for the past 25 years since its foundation and could nurture many engineers with understanding of Japanese engineering. It was a merit of the third-country type training for them where those Filipino engineers could instruct their counterparts from Myanmar in English, free from language problems, on Japanese engineering. Using the scheme, the company trained 19 people from Myanmar. The Myanmar corporation owns a plant and training center for duct fabrication in Thanlyn, outside of Yangon. As those ducts are bulky and more expensive to import, it was decided to localize their fabrication in Myanmar to meet the needs of its customers. The Myanmar engineers dispatched to the Filipino local corporation could acquire skills in the design/installation of mechanical and electrical facilities, expecting them to obtain more advanced engineering to be needed in Myanmar soon such as cleanroom and automatic controlling.2. A Japanese afliate rm succeeded to get orders at a redevelopment project of a former railroad track in Myanmar A large-scale project called ‘Yoma Central (formerly the Landmark project) has commenced at the heart of Yangon, and will be a complex of ofces, condominiums, hotels and commercial facilities. A company involved in the air conditioning work of the project has also used our third-country style training.A manufacturer of automotive safety parts by integrated production from dies to processing, assembly and inspectionCase #3: KATSUYAMA FINETECH Co., Ltd.Practiced byKatsuyama Finetech (Thailand) Co., Ltd. A Japanese engineer who repaired its stamping dies after the big ood in 2011 is now serving as its plant manager; a Thai employed in 1995 to launch its operation is now the GM, taking responsibility for management, a former AOTS trainee and uent in the Japanese language as well. The number of dies being manufactured in Thailand is now three times as many as being manufactured in Japan and all those dies are in-house made. Its Indonesian plant commenced operations in 2014. With higher needs for localization of parts being seen in Indonesia, it was desired to invite technical experts from the Thai corporation to enhance their technical level as high as Thailand.Capabilities of many former AOTS trainees in the Thai corporation have been employed in technical instructions to their counterparts in Indonesia. 94 Indonesian technical staff in total have been trained by using the third-country type of training. With 25 training sessions, they could be trained in both relevant technical subjects with seat belt production such as stamping, coating, assembling and inspection as well as management engineering including quality and production controlling.
