JOURNAL14●April: Symposium on ‘Investment and Trade Promotion to North Sumatra’Himpunan Alumni AOTS Indonesia (HAAI) Medan organized a symposium with the attendance of Dr. Ir. H. Tengku Erry Nuradi, MBA., M.Si, Governor of North Sumatra, who is also Chairman of Advisory Board HAAI-Medan, as Keynote Speaker. Also invited were some thirty guests from administration, business circles, academia and media of North Sumatra who joined in the discussion of tasks and solutions to promote more trade and investment in North Sumatra.The symposium started with congratulatory addresses by Mr. Khairul Mahalli, President of HAAI-Medan, Mr. Saharto Sahardjo, Vice chairman of HAAI-Jakarta, and Mr. Takeshi Ishii, Consulate General of Medan, followed by a brieng by governor Tengku Erry on policy measures by his state government. Later those attendants exchanged views very actively. Local media covered the event to enhance the public prole of the society. Four executives from HAAI-Jakarta visited Medan to assist in organizing this symposium. ●October: Symposium on Industry 4.0 Himpunan Alumni AOTS Indonesia (HAAI)-Jakarta Central Board organized a symposium on Industry 4.0 as a commemorative event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Japan and Indonesia.Following addresses by Mr. F. X. Sri Martono, Chairman of HAAI-Jakarta, AOTS president Kuwayama and Masafumi Ishii, Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia, Mr. Tony Sinambela, Director for Access of Industrial Resources and International Promotion - Ministry of Industry, delivered a keynote speech.The session went into presentations of cases on industry 4.0 by Indonesian enterprises and the current situation of the Indonesian economy by panelists, mostly consisting of alumni members.In part one, those panelists, including Mr. Warih Andang Tjahjono, President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, introduced how they were dealing with sustainability in corporations. Presentations during part two included corporate cases of e-commerce, IoT and automation solutions, while part three featured good presentations on industry 4.0 as well as new approaches to personnel evaluation using digitalization. The event came to a close with a summary speech by Vice chairman of HAAI-Jakarta Mr. Saharto Sahardjo. This symposium had about 120 attendants, but it had so many applications it had to stop collection of requests early.
