11No. 14 SPRING 2019Japan Indonesia Association, Inc. collected a lot of winter clothing donated by corporate and personal members for the Indonesian candidates, 297 caregiver candidates and 31 nurse candidates, under training in the three venues of AOTS Tokyo Kenshu Center, Kansai Kenshu Center and Chubu Ofce. In addition, by the courtesy of Lotte Holdings Co., Ltd., disposable heat packs and assorted confectionery of three kinds including chocolate were donated as well. Our Indonesian candidates had a great relief and joy by receiving those winter clothing in early October when it started to show lower temperature in morning and night. Feeling warm consideration of those donators, those candidates will surely study hard rst and then working at respective facilities and hospitals in order to pass national examinations. To overcome severe coldness in Japan, the Philippine Society of Japan sent winter clothing for the Filipino candidates, 273 caregiver candidates and 40 nurse candidates, in Osaka and Yokohama. These were formally donated at Osaka and Yokohama in September both with personal presence of Mr. Kenji Endo, Director of the Philippine Society pf Japan. At the Yokohama ceremony, delegates of corporate members of the Philippine Society that had donated a large volume of winter clothing also attended. Following this ceremonial part, the guests and the candidates moved to the dining room for lunch and talked about home and their impressions of Japan with each other. Those candidates in Yokohama left for a Mt. Fuji tour on September 20 in the rain but could wear those sweaters, overcoats, and mufers and could enjoy the tour but forgot the cold.Winter Clothing Donated to EPA Candidates from Japan Indonesia Association and the Philippine Society of JapanSince scal 2008, AOTS has been implementing six-month training in Japan featuring intensive Japanese language lessons for nurse and caregiver candidates from Indonesia and the Philippines under the Economic Partnership Agreements between Japan and the two countries.
