201620142012200920052003July 20173No. 11 AUTUMN 2017Expert providing guidanceWe are pleased to announce that we have taken a new step forward on July 1, 2017, with HIDA being renamed as the AOTS.With great pleasure, we welcome the new name “Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS)". When AOTS changed the title to HIDA in 2012, BAAS (Bangladesh AOTS Alumni Society) retained the name BAAS (Bangladesh AOTS-HIDA Alumni Society) by just simply adding HIDA as a supplement to AOTS, instead of changing the term that had served both nations for the past few decades. As such, we were able to maintain the consistency within our well-established relations, as well as the discipline and structure with which BAAS has always operated. Any and all new ideas Japan foresees to be the best t for Japan and all its partnering nations, the organization will hands down have our full support. We welcome this new chapter with open arms and are prepared to underpin prospering and sustainable growth for the betterment of Bangladesh, Japan, and all countries aspiring to see a brighter tomorrow.Zakariul Islam Swapon, President, BAAS Great ideas never go out of style and become stronger over time, as obstacles are overcome. The AOTS has been a great idea that has served as a bridge to strengthen the bonds of friendship between all participating countries and Japan for more than ve decades. All the Mexicans who participated in the training programs are deeply grateful for the support of the AOTS. We are proud to belong to a successful organization and wish to continue on this path of success for the wellbeing of our countries.
