11No. 10 SPRING 2017ThailandThe rst group of Monodzukuri Jinzai Ambassadors was appointed in Thailand for their contributions to introducing and spreading Japanese technologies and in human resource development.They were Mr. Suchai Pongpakpien, President of ABK & AOTS Alumni Association (Thailand); Mr. Supong Chayutsahakij, Chairman, Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI), Dr. Bandhit Rojarayanont, President, TNI and Dr. Sucharit Koontanakulvong, President, Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) (TPA).ABK & AOTS Alumni Association (Thailand) was founded in 1964 by a group of program graduates. It strives to contribute economic devel-opment of Thailand in human resource development through various activities such as seminar hosting. The Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology opened in 2007 in Bangkok, by the efforts of mainly HIDA/AOTS program graduates and former students who studied in Japan. It provides Japanese corporate style manufacturing education and contributes to human resource development for local companies with afliation with Japan. Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) is a non-prot organization founded in 1973 in Bangkok, by mainly HIDA/AOTS program graduates and former students who studied in Japan, with the purpose to engage in introduction and promotion of Japanese technologies and in human resource development.The appointment ceremony for the rst group was held on October 14th, 2016 in Tokyo, at the ofce of the Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, attended by Mr. Seko, the Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry himself.PeruThe second group of Monodzukuri Jinzai Ambassadors was appointed for their support for activities of Kenshu Kiokay del Peru (HIDA/AOTS Peruvian Alumni Association). They were Mr. Fernando Martín Zavala Lombardi, the Prime Minister of Republic of Peru, Mr. Alfonso Fernando Grados Carraro, the Minister of Labor and Employment, and Mr. Ernesto Furukawa, President of Kenshu Kiokay del Peru. Kenshu Kiokay del Peru engages actively in a range of activities aiming to contribute to Peru’s economic development and promotion of Japan–Peru friendship (See page 15 for the activities of Kenshu Kiokay del Peru).The appointment ceremony was held on November 20th, 2016 in Lima, Peru, at Centro Cultural Peruano Japonés, attended by Mr. Seko, the Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry himself.
